German prosecutors asked the European Union to lift the immunity of a French far-right leader who holds a seat in the E.U. Parliament. The prosecutors want to charge Jean-Marie Le Pen with instigating racial incitement for allegedly reiterating before a German audience last December his belief that the Holocaust is a “mere detail of history.” Le Pen has already been convicted and fined for making similar remarks in France.
