Dr. Fritz Bauer, Hessian Attorney General, launched an investigation today against seven ultra-nationalist youth groups which recently formed a coalition “German Youth Movement.”

He said the purpose of the investigation would be to determine whether the groups were violating West German laws against anti-democratic and anti-Semitic activities. West German youth leaders have estimated that from 40, 000 to 70, 000 German youths are organized in the neo-Nazi and militarist groups which are led by former SS and Nazi party members and which are seeking ties with neo-Nazi parties in West Germany.
