Germany Investigates Eight Nazis Suspected of Killing 31, 000 Jews

The Wiesbaden prosecution office disclosed today it had begun investigation of the Nazi careers of eight former members of the Security Police.

The eight are suspected of taking part in the execution of 31, 000 Jews and Russian prisoners of war in the Lublin district during World War II. The prosecution office said several hundred witnesses had been interrogated. The principal suspects were listed as former Criminal Commissars Hermann Worthoff, George Lothar Hoffmann, Johannes Mueller and Bruno Meiert.
