Negotiations between the West German Republic and French organizations of Nazi victims, involving restitution for household assets mainly of French Jews confiscated in France by German occupation troops, will be concluded soon, a spokesman for the West German Ministry of Finance declared today.

Similar negotiations with Belgian organizations will begin in a few weeks, he said. The claims are based on the Federal Indemnification Law and are independent of indemnification claims of the Governments of France and Belgium for compensation for their nationals who suffered in Nazi concentration camps.

A year of negotiations between the Bonn ‘Finance Ministry and an organization of Dutch Nasi victims ended last week with An agreement for payment of 300,000,000 marks in compensation. It has been estimated that the restitution for household property seized in various European countries by German troops in World War II will cost the Bonn Republic about 1,500,000,000 marks.
