Germany will provide Israel with Patriot missiles for defense against Iraq, Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder said. Citing Germany’s “moral duty” to protect Israel, Schroeder told the weekly Die Zeit newspaper that the “security of the State of Israel and its citizens is extraordinarily important to us.”
