Gideon Rafael, Israeli Ambassador to Britain has been appointed first Israeli Ambassador to the Irish Republic, and he will combine the two assignments, residing in London and visiting Dublin periodically. The agreement on full diplomatic relations between the Irish Republic and Israel was reached last Dec. 12. It was then agreed that the diplomatic missions in both capitals should be at the ambassadorial level. The Irish have not yet announced the name of their Ambassador to Israel.
