The “Aryan” ancestry of the American actor Jean Hersholt having been established to his satisfaction, Propaganda Minister Paul Joseph Goebbels has permitted exhibition in Germany of “The Country Doctor,” film starring the famous Dionne quintuplets, it was announced here today. Mr. Hersholt plays the role of Dr. Allan A. Dafoe, the quintuplets’ physician.

Doubt as to Mr. Hersholt’s “Aryan” descent was dispelled by agents of Twentieth-Century Fox, American producers of the film, following several months of research into his ancestry in his native city of Copenhagen.

Dr. Goebbels, expressing agreement with the film’s emphasis on many children, which he said coincided with the Nazi ideal, had demanded proof of Mr. Hersholt’s “Aryanism” before permitting the film to be shown.
