Covered by a mass of flowers sent by Socialist organizations from all parts of the world, the urn of ashes containing the remains of Lee Martoff, the Jewish leader of the Russian Menshevik party who died as an exile several days ago in Berlin was buried today.

The President of the Reichstag, prominent Socialist leaders representing the principal countries of Europe, the Russian writer Maxim Gorky and a host of other notables were present and eulogized Martoff.

The aged wife of Karl Kautsky was present and explained that her husband was unable to be present on account of illness. She read a letter from her husband, paying tribute to the personality of Martoff.

A large number who had planned to send flowers, instead gave the money intended for that purpose for the fund for political prisoners, in accordance with the wish expressed by Martoff before his death.
