A large drainage scheme which would improve the health conditions in Palestine and increase the fertility of the swamp areas, is now being contemplated by the Palestine government, reports published here state.
British experts are said to be enroute to Palestine from London to work out the details of the plan. The vicinities of Jerusalem, Jaffa, Tel Aviv and Haifa are to be examined for that purpose.
The fear is expressed here however, that some opposition may develop in the British parliament when the grant of large sums for the purpose of completing this scheme will be asked.
