Guardian Describes Tortures Inflicted on Jewish Children in Schools of Upper Silesia

The German obligation to give free schooling to the children of minority groups in Upper Silesia has turned into a farcical fraud as far as the Jews are concerned, the Manchester Guardian, noted liberal paper, declared today. The Guardian is continuing to publish the results of the investigations made by a correspondent on conditions in Upper Silesia, following the promises made by Germany to the League of Nations following the Bernheim petition.

Discussing the position of the Jewish children, the Guardian declares that hatred and abuses have turned the schools into torture chambers for the children of Jews, who dread their teachers, schoolmates and school. The moral suffering alone is enough to shatter the nerves of grown men, to say nothing of the sensitive minds of small children. Medical men told the Guardian correspondent that the health of the Jewish children is suffering seriously.
