Dr. Chaim Weizmann, veteran Zionist leader, today received a cable from five leading members of t he Cabinet of Israel expressing the hope that he will head the Jewish state. The message, from Tel Aviv, was signed by David Ben Gurion, Moshe Shertok, Eliezor Kaplan, Goldie Meirson and David Remez. The Cable stated:
“We greet you on this occasion of the establishment of t he Jewish state. No man living has contributed so much toward its creation as you have done. Your stand and help in our struggle have strengthened all of us. We hope for the day when we shall see you at the head of the state established in peace.”
