More than $23,000 has been raised and spent on local charity work by the Englewood chapter of Hadassah in its eleven years of existence. The chapter is celebrating its birthday this week. The average annual expenditure of $2,000 is considered remarkable locally, since the Jewish population is small. Twelve members comprised the Hadassah when it started its work eleven years ago; today there are more than one hundred.
Mrs. Jules Levinsohn has served continuously as chairman-president of the chapter. This fall she enters upon her twelfth term.
Mrs. Samuel Dincin, vice-chairman, Mrs. Sidney Franklin, Mrs. R. Wollenberg, Mrs. Rose Kasnowitz, Mrs. Nathan Barrett, Mrs. Sigmund Lapper, Mrs. Edward Beyer, Mrs. Albert Moskin, Mrs. M. Kraut, Mrs. Frank Hillman, Mrs. David Drosnes, and Mrs. Fred Raim, are other officers.
