Hadassah urged President Bush to veto Congress’ passage of the “partial-birth abortion” bill. “If signed into law, the so-called ‘partial-birth abortion’ ban would mark the first time that the federal government has outlawed an abortion procedure,” Hadassah’s national president, Bonnie Lipton, said in a statement Thursday. “We consider this a major setback in our ongoing struggle to maintain reproductive rights in this country.”
