Hamas declared that it would not suspend attacks on Israel, despite Palestinian “truce” moves. Shortly thereafter, a different terrorist group failed in a suicide bombing attempt in the West Bank. The 16-year-old suicide bomber, sent by Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat’s mainstream Fatah faction, struck Israeli forces raiding a village near Kalkilya, but killed only himself.
