Hamas reportedly is trying to strengthen its ties with Egypt. According to documents seized during a recent army raid of a Palestinian Authority security compound in the Gaza Strip, recent talks Hamas held in Cairo with Yasser Arafat’s Fatah movement were not aimed at curbing attacks against Israel, but at building ties with Egypt, Ha’aretz reported Monday.
