Hamas said it would boycott Palestinian Authority elections on Jan. 9. The radical Islamic group said Wednesday it would instruct all its members in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to skip the vote for a successor to Yasser Arafat, describing the Palestinian Authority as illegitimate because it was created under interim peace deals with Israel.
