Edgar Engelhard, chairman of the Hamburg Free Democratic Party, today had placed his organization behind the campaign for peace between Germany and Israel. The campaign was started by Erich Leuth, in the Neue Zettung of Frankfurt. Engelhard sharply criticized the Hamburg Senate for its failure to aid the Jewish community’s synagogue here.
