The publisher and manager of Cuba’s only Yiddish publication, the weekly “Havaner Lebn,” were under arrest today charged with having printed in their plant proclamations by leftist Cuban students and workers calling for a general strike against the civil and military authorities. Police charge that 7,000 copies of the proclamation were found on the weekly’s premises.

The two, S.M. Kaplan, publisher, and Isidore Bochner, manager, were scheduled to be tried today by the Revolutionary Tribunal. If found guilty they face a year’s imprisonment.
