The Hebrew Institute of Technology at Haifa has been approved by the Veterans Administration for the education and training of American veterans under the G. I. Bill of Rights, it was announced today by the American Society for the Palestine Institute of Technology.
The approval of the institute was made known in a letter to the society from H.V. Stirling, director of the vocational rehabilitation and educational service of the Veterans Administration. Under this ruling, qualified and eligible veterans will be able to study engineering and industrial arts at the Institute in Haifa, and while pursuing their studies will be entitled to the full benefits of the G.I. Bill of Rights, which, among other things, provides for monthly subsistence allowances of $50 to $75 a month to the veteran during his enrollment at an approved institution, and for payments up to $500 a year for each veteran to the institution to cover tuition fees and other expenses.
