The drive for $35,000 for the United Jewish Campaign and United Palestine Appeal, despite the intensive efforts of Chairman Emanuel Weiss and his staff, fell short $17,000. Mr. Weiss admitted that some of the largest contributors to the Jewish activities failed to donate to the drive owing to personal differences with some of the workers.

He stated he is satisfied with the result since the city’s quota was made high owing to the financial standing of some of its citizens who this time did not participate.

“High pressure salesmanship,” Mr. Weiss stated, “was one of the objectionable features of former campaigns which interfered with the work this time.”
