Hillel Rasskin. chairman of the Education Ministry’s Sports Authority, told the Knesset last week that only three percent of Israelis “pursue the sort of activity that can do their health some good.” Eighty-four percent, he said, engage in no sports or exercise, and the population as a whole is in poor physical condition. Knesseters, he added, “are in especially bad shape.”
