A four-point program to combat terror in Palestine was adopted here last night at a special conference of the Histadruth, the Palestine Federation of Labor, called for the purpose of finding effective measures to check terroristic activities in the country. The resolutions provide.
1. People suspected of belonging to Jewish terrorist groups should be ousted from employment.
2. All suspects should be expelled from schools and other educational institutions.
3. Strong opposition should be organized to any attempt by terrorists to extort money from individual Jews.
4. Full assistance should be given to the authorities “as far as the authorities or police are interested in such assistance.”
The resolutions were suggested by David Ben-Gurion, Histadruth leader and chairman of the executive of the Jewish Agency. Moshe Shertok, head of the political department of the Jewish Agency, and David Remez, general secretary of the Histadruth, supported the recommendations.
The Palestine Government today announced that the case of each of the 251 Jews deported from Palestine to Eritrea as terrorist suspects will be reconsidered on its own merits periodically. The announcement describes how mail can be sent to the deportees. Meanwhile, arrests of people suspected of terrorism continue. Twenty-one Jews were detained today.
