History of United Nations Presented by Israeli Author to U Thant

United Nations Acting Secretary General U Thant accepted today a copy of a new Pictorial History of the United Nations from its author. Dr. Jacob A. Rubin, at a special ceremony in the Secretary General’s office.

It was pointed out that the 80, 000-word book which has 645 photographs, was a product of cooperation from nationals of three of the smaller UN member nations, U Thant of Burma, Ambassador Boland of Ireland, and Dr. Rubin, an Israeli journalist. The Secretary General and Mr. Boland each contributed forewords to the book, which was published by Thomas Yoseloff, of New York.
