Several Communists and ten Arabs were arrested here today for distributing subversive leaflets and for trying to convert the Nebi Mussa, the Arab religious processions which took place today, into anti-government and anti-Jewish demonstrations.
The processions passed quietly. The government prohibited the singing of political songs and speeches of a political nature. No participant in the Nebi Mussa processions was permitted to carry weapons.
The processions were permitted only in three cities—in Jerusalem, Nablus and in Hebron.
