Holocaust survivors were planning to demonstrate Thursday outside the Syrian Embassy in Paris to coincide with a visit to France by Syrian President Hafez Assad. The protesters want to press their demand that Assad extradite former Nazi S.S. officer Alois Brunner, accused of responsibility for the deaths of more than 100,000 Jews across Europe during World War II. Meanwhile, Assad denied during an interview broadcast on French television that Syria had given Brunner refuge.
