The High Court of Hongkong will decide on the award of a $450,000 legacy left by a Jewish woman, Mrs. Belilius, of Hongkong, for the “Great Synagogue” of Jerusalem.

The authorities had difficulty in determing which is the “Great Synagogue” of Jerusalem. Both the Sephardic and Ashkenazic communities claim that the legacy rightly belongs to them as theirs is the “Great Synagogue” in the Holy City. Both parties declined a compromise.
