Jewish merchants and property owners in the cities of Orad amare and Clausenburg, the scenes of the anti-Semitic student riots, suffered great material losses, according to an official statement issued here.
The city governments of Oradeamare and Clausenburg submitted a request to the Bucharest government to declare a moratorium in these regions and to postpone the collection of taxes because of the citizens inability to meet their obligations.
