Several hundred of the Roumanian students who returned from the anti-Semitic congress at Oradeamare were arrested by the Roumanian authorities upon their arrival in Bucharest, a report received here declares.
The arrest was made by a large detachment of soldiers who surrounded the arriving students. Machine guns were used to effect the arrest.
An official statement issued in Bucharest declares that the leaders of the riots will be tried by a court martial.
The government also announced that indemnity will be paid to the families of the victims of the Oradeamare disturbances.
The decision to arrest the leaders of the anti-Jewish pogroms was taken, it was declared, at a cabinet meeting at which Premier Bratianu, Minister of the Interior Dnca. the Chief of Police, the Ministers of Education and Justice and the commander of the Bucharest garrison were present.
