The House approved the establishment of a free trade area with Israel by a 416-6 vote today. The Senate adopted a similar bill by a 96-0 vote last week. Differences between the two bills will have to be ironed out by a conference committee but the final legislation is expected to be adopted by Congress before it adjourns this week.
The only concern about the Free Trade Act, which was sought by the Reagan Administration, came from some of the areas whose products could be hurt by Israeli competition.
