Speaker William Bankhead today named the seven-man committee to investigate un-American activities called for by the Dies resolution. The members are Martin Dies (Dem., Texas), chairman; Arthur D. Healey (Dem., Mass.), John J. Dempsey (Dem., New Mexico), Joseph Starnes (Dem.,Alabama), Harold G. Mosier (Dem.,Ohio), Noah M. Mason (Rep.,Illinois) and J. Parnell Thomas (Rep., New Jersey).

Mr. Thomas made the following statement: “We should have little difficulty in finding evidence of un-American influences now at work in this country. Nazi camps are springing up all over, and no attempt is made to conceal the fact that this movement has as its ultimate objective the Nazification of America.”
