Secretary of State Cordell Hull today sent the following letter of condolence to Mrs. Cyrus Adler in Philadelphia:

“I was deeply grieved to learn of the passing of your distinguished husband. Dr. Adler will long be remembered for his high ideals and his devotion to the doctrine of tolerance and good will among men of all creeds. I was privileged to know him for many years and I held him in great respect and esteem. Mrs. Hull joins me in sending deepest sympathy to you and your family in your bereavement.”

The White House said that President Roosevelt was sending a message of condolence to the Adler family from Hyde Park.
