The early publication of an overall Jewish rehabilitation and restitution law was assured today following the conclusion of an agreement between representatives of the Jewish community and the Hungarian Government’s Supreme Economic Council on the text of the decree.
The bill, which has been the subject of discussions between the Jews and the government since shortly after the liberation, provides for the establishment of a Central Jewish Fund, consisting of property left by heirless Jews, which will be used to finance Jewish rehabilitation and restores all civic rights to Jews.
