Minister of Education Gyula Ortutay today visited Jewish grammer schools and in a brief address to the students, expressed sympathy and understanding for the sufferings of the Jews under previous pro-Nazi regimes, but pleaded for “forgiveness and cooperation in the reconstruction of Hungary.” During a demonstration Hebrow lesson, Ortutay, who is not Jewish, surprised both pupils and instructors, by helping out a child who was unable to translate some of the words.

The long-heralded and much-delayed Zionist weekly, “Jewish Way,” which last week secured permission to publish, will appear next Thursday.
