The German-controlled Budapest radio today announced that Dr. Ladislaus Endre has been appointed head of the department of Jewish affairs at the pro-Nazi Hungarian Ministry of Interior. The broadcast also stated that the Jewish community in Budapest has been ordered “to place another thousand flats at the disposal of bombed-out people in addition to those already vacated.”

The Hungarian Minister of Trade, Anton Kunder, in a statement to the press, announced that he intends “to replace all Jewish firms with Christian ones,” the Nazi Transocean news agency reported today. The Minister warned all commercial enterprises throughout Hungary against retaining Jewish employees and emphasized that “suitable Christian employees must be found by all employers who have the interest of Hungary that heart.”
