Hungary Preparing New Tax on Jews; Rumanian Jews Allowed to Return Home from France

Hungary’s Jews are in for another attack on their rapidly dwindling resources, it was indicated today by the official German news agency DNB, which reported that Premier Nicholas von Kallay has announced that a bill concerning a special capital levy on Jews is being drafted.

The Vichy radio was heard here today announcing that Rumanian Jews in France who wish to return home must apply to the Rumanian legation at Vichy before Nov. 25. Applicants must indicate the district in which they plan to reside, the broadcast said.
