Hungary, Rumania, Czechoslovakia Agree to Halt Jews Leaving Country Illegally

The Hungarian, Czechoslovak and Rumanian authorities are trying to smash, by joint effort, an alleged organization which is reported we smuggled 5,000 persons–a large number of them Jews–to the West in the last ##ter of 1948, a high Hungarian official who asked that his name be withheld re##ed here today.

The authorities have agreed on joint measures which are mainly against “i1###l” Jewish emigration which is constantly increasing. During the current week, ####t 400 Hungarian Jewish refugees arrived in Vienna despite frosty weather.
