Ibn Saud Deposes King Ali, Appoints Alisaidar Pasha Emir of Mecca

Emir Ali, Commander in Chief of the Hedjaz army and newly elected King, after the abdication of his father, Hussein, is to share his father’s fate because of the anti-Hashamite determination of Ibn Saud, victorious leader of the Wahabis.

Ibn Saud today appointed as Emir of Mecca, Sheriff Alisaidar Pasha, now Resident at Constantinople. Ibn Saud is expected to arrive in the Holy City with his suite today to make an inspection of the Moslem Holy Sites.

Well informed circles expect further dramatic developments in the Wahabi action against the Hashamite family. It is stated that after the deposing of King Ali, Ibn Saud will demand the abdication of Emir Feisul, King of Mesopotamia, and Emir Abdullah, ruler of Transjordania, the sons of Hussein.
