Identification cards issued in Greece will no longer list a person’s religion, Greek Prime Minister Costas Simitis announced. Greece’s Jewish community had sought the removal of the religion listing for some 15 years.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
