The House of Representatives of the State of Illinois has endorsed the State of Israel bond campaign as “a potent instrument for the economic strengthening of the democracy of Israel, which is dedicated to the principles of human brotherhood and enlightened fellowship among all nations and creeds.”
The Illinois legislative body adopted a resolution in support of the Israel bond drive in conjunction with the “Man of the Year” dinner in Chicago on Sunday, December 17 in honor of Harris Perlstein, veteran Jewish civic and communal leader of Chicago. The “Man of the year” dinner honoring Mr. Perlstein will mark the climax of the 1961 campaign for Israel bonds in Illinois.
