The Transjordan Government has published a new immigration law, termed the “Aliens Law of 1927,” by virtue of which anyone who is not a citizen of Transjordan cannot enter the country freely.
Persons of Ottoman nationality who were resident in Transjordan until August 1924, or acquired Transjordan nationality prior to August 1926 are considered as citizens. The Immigration restrictions do not affect Government officials in Transjordan, British officials or troops and representatives of foreign Governments.
As a result of negotiations between the Governments of Egypt, Palestine and Transjordan, it has been agreed to erect wireless stations at the frontier outposts to enable the police on the frontier to communicate speedily with headquarters. Preparations are already being made for erecting the wireless stations between Palestine and Egypt.
