In a recent poll of American Jewish voters, 65.3 percent of the respondents said President Clinton should not pressure Israel “to move faster trading land for peace than Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may otherwise be prepared to do.” The poll, commissioned by the Washington-based Middle East Quarterly, was released as Clinton administration officials debate how much pressure to apply during a meeting scheduled for next week between Netanyahu and Clinton.
