In a statement to the Matin today, Lord Passfield, British Colonial Secretary, defended the British government’s White Paper on Palestine and denied that there was a single word in the White Paper to justify the Jewish protests that the British statement of policy means the stoppage of Jewish immigration.

Lord Passfield told Le Matin that the “Jews say the White Paper means the stoppage of Jewish immigration but there is not a single word in the White Paper that mentions that. Moreover the British government announces through the White Paper a large plan of land development with the aim of giving the Jews land.”
