Increased Anti-jewish Propaganda in Entre Rios; Peron Condemns “death to Jews” Slogan

There has been a marked increase in anti-Jewish propaganda in the province of Entre Rios, where Jewish agricultural settlements are (##)sted, it is reported in El Diario, an influential newspaper published in Parana, ca(##) of the province.

The paper terms “intolerable” the anti-Jewish atmosphare in Entre Rios. At the same time, it was reported here that a Jewish youth organization has been formed in the province for the purpose of fighting anti-Semitism.

Col. Juan D. Peron, the “strong man” of Argentina, last night issued a statement from his party headquarters in which he disavowed the support of persons shouting heath to Jews, Long Live Peron” as “irresponsible elements who try to provoke alarm and confusion”. The statement “energetically repudiates” acts of violence and hopes at those responsible for such-acts will be brought to justice.

A message of thanks to the Catholic groups which during the last few days have (##) statements condemning anti-Jewish activities in Argentina was made public by the (##), central Jewish body. It also expressed its gratitude to Father Pierre Charles, Belgian priest, who has delivered many public addresses recently condemning racial propaganda as anti-Christian.
