The Indian Government has taken “serious note” of “tendentious and totally false” press reports in Arab countries about secret India-Israel talks for purchase of Israeli weapons. External Affairs Minister Swaran Singh told Parliament today.

He said the statements were made by “certain organizations in some Arab countries” and that the Indian Government had taken the matter up with various Arab Governments and the Arab League. He said that the Government categorically denied negotiations on arms with Israel, secret or open, actual or contemplated.
