An investigation into alleged racketeering and abuses in connection with the kosher slaughtering of poultry in New York City will open this afternoon. The inquiry, conducted by Arthur Simon, special Health Department investigator, arose out of accusations made by Jacques Buitenkant, counsel to the Vaad Shochtim Oifes, against Poultry Slaughterers’ Union Local 440, an American Federation of Labor affliate.
