Internationally renowned experts in city planning will participate in preparation of plans for the rebuilding of East Jerusalem, the area formerly under control of Jordan, which includes the walled Old City of Jerusalem, according to an agreement today between the Municipality of Jerusalem and the Ministry of the Interior. Hereafter, under this pact, all applications for building permits in the area will be referred to the panel of international experts before the plans are discussed by the District Town Planning Commission. The Commission, which has a master plan for the rebuilding of the Old City, will have authority to approve or reject the plans.
