Iran’s air force will hold a major drill during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

The war games reported Tuesday by the Fars Iranian news agency come as reports have surfaced about possible strikes by the United States and Israel to curtail Iran’s nuclear program.

Iran says its nuclear program is for domestic electricity production only. The United States and other world powers are working to diffuse the situation through diplomacy.

“In this great exercise we will display a small portion of the abilities and strength of those guarding Iran’s skies,” Fars quoted Iranian Chief of Staff Gen. Atallah Salhi as saying. Iran has often boasted of its weapons’ capabilities.
