Appointment of Isaac Seligson, associate director of the Associated Jewish Philanthropies and the Combined Jewish Appeal of Greater Boston, as executive director of the American Jewish Historical Society was announced here by Dr. Bertram W. Korn, president of the Society.
The object of the Society, founded in 1892, is to collect and publish materials relating to the history of the American Jewish community and to the role the Jews have played in the development of our country. The Society has been the mainspring of research in the field of American Jewish history.
Mr. Seligson taught at Simmons College Graduate School of Social Work and has lectured at Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University and the Hebrew Teachers College in Boston.
