A half-hour clash occurred today between Israeli and Jordan military units in an area north of Beersheba, a military spokesman announced. The battle occurred when an Israel patrol spotted Jordan troops inside the Israel frontier. The Jordanians withdrew, taking their casualties with them. There were no Israeli casualties.
Israeli fishing vessels on Lake Huleh were fired upon yesterday by Syrian troops in northern Palestine, it was announced here today. It was also revealed that an Israeli fishing village on the edge of the lake was the target of Syrian fire. No casualties occurred on either the vessels or at the village. The Israeli representatives on the Mixed Armistice Commission have protested.
