The Israel Consulate hero today reported that Israel’s Ministry of Religion is asking the cooperation of Jewish communities throughout the world in the holding of memorial services for these who were killed in the Nazi death camps.
“The ashes of the Jewish deed brought from Europe have been buried on Mount Zion. Sacred scrolls and books of the Law and other relics found in the camps are being stored there,” the report said. “Every Thursday evening memorial services are held on Mount Zion. The Kadish is recited in memory of those who died on the anniversary of the week in which a community perished when the date is known.”
The Ministry of Religion is gathering data on these anniversaries. It also plans to collect holy objects of the destroyed communities. Persons in position to assist are requested to write to the Israel consulate.
